There’s nothing quite like hanging up the phone after a conversation with someone who’s doing well.
Nothing so uplifting as a high energy encounter with a person who’s built a great life and is living it.
The fact that they’re doing well can’t be hidden, even if it isn’t directly talked about. It comes across clearly in conversation, because how could it not? They’re not bragging, not talking dollars or possessions… just emitting vibes.
It’s evidenced by the complete absence of complaining or talking down.
They’re composed, grateful and optimistic. Confidently at peace. Abundance is expected, not merely hoped for. They know without a doubt that their future will be better than their past.
They’re conveying the impression of increase.
Whatever your goals, it’s extremely difficult to achieve them if they feel distant or unrealistic. To get where you’re going, you need to be able to believe it’s realistically possible. And nothing stokes that belief like firsthand exposure to people who are doing well.
The most magnificent way to interact with someone who’s doing well is to engage on their level but without comparing your current self to them. Just enjoy the conversation. Take a break from the doom and gloom and frustration being thrust upon you from every angle in daily life.
The most important step in advancing your career:
Get around people who are doing well.
These people are inspiration, embodied and contextualized.
They might actively offer you opportunities, advice, connections, wisdom… or they might not.
They might just give you the greatest gift of all: a vision of what’s possible. A sense of what’s within reach for you.
Doing well is contagious.
Get around people who are doing well.
And then become that person for others.
