The curse of doing what you love for work is that it’s hard to separate work from leisure.

Instead of “work vs. life”, a better distinction might be “execution vs. strategy”.

Action vs. thinking.

Some examples I like:

EXECUTION:

My “Morning Flurry”.

Desk, coffee, incense, music.

Action item list. Notifications off.

4 hours of work gets done in 90 minutes.

STRATEGY:

Sit outside. Take a walk.

Read a book. Have a drink with a friend.

Ideas come up. Write them down.

Execute later.

The more intensely you execute, the quicker it gets done, and the more time for thinking.
